    RISE- RAISE-ARISE-AROUSE

RISE-ROSE-RISEN (without an object):
the sun rises (ανατέλλει);  person rises from bed/ from table;
a river rises from its source( πηγάζει);a voice/ the wind rises( δυναμώνει); the temperature rises/prices rise(ανεβαίνει); a hill rises(υψώνεται); a man rises in the world(ανέρχεται κοινωνικά);people rise against the government (εξεγείρομαι)

RAISE-RAISED-RAISED (with an object):
(σηκώνω,υψώνω,ανεβάζω) raise sth from the floor); raise my hat/ eyes/ hand (to sb)/glass (to sb); raise my voice ; raise the temperature; raise the price ;  raise a laugh( προκαλώ);raise a question/ objections(προβάλλω αντιρρήσεις);raise money(μαζεύω χρήματα);;raise children(ανατρέφω);raise sheep(εκτρέφω)

ARISE-AROSE-ARISEN: (without an object) : (εγείρομαι , παρουσιάζομαι, προκύπτω) difficulties/obligations/problems arise; mist arises

AROUSE-AROUSED-AROUSED: (with an abject): awaken, activate (προκαλώ/ ξεσηκώνω/ενεργοποιώ)

EXERCISE A

TOPIC:WHY I AM LEARNING ENGLISH

English is neccessity of life and the same as lifelong learning when you want to live in the real world
-a good knowledge of English is absolutely necessary
if you
- want to study/read English literature
- want to become a teacher of English
- want to work in a hotel as a receptionist /an airhostess / a translator etc.
-  want to find a good job((knowing English increases the chances of finding highly paid work)
- want to work in a travel agency / in a shipping company
- want to visit various countries (communicate with people abroad)
- have friends /relatives/ keypals abroad
 - try to find a job abroad
- want to study abroad/ in the USA/ in England
- want to listen to a lot of songs in English and understand what the lyrics are about
- play computer games / visit websites / surf the Net to  find information 


English is an international language.It is spoken by millions of people all over the world.
