to advertise =διαφημίζω  -> avdertisement (n.) advertising (n.) advertiser (n.)

area = a place or region, περιοχή

band =μουσικό συγκρότημα

to belong to = ανήκω σε

busy =someone who is working hard, or giving attention to a particular activity, πολυάσχολος

caption =words written under a picture to explain it, επεξήγηση φωτογραφίας, λεζάντα

charity = money, food, or other help that is given to people, αγαθοεργία, φιλανθρωπία

chew  = μασάω                     Example : Stop chewing gum in the classroom.

choir =a group of people who sing together, χορωδία

choreography =  χορογραφία

club= an organization for people who want to take part in a sport or social activity together, όμιλος, σύλλογος

coach = trainer, προπονητής

cookery =preparing or cooking food, μαγειρική  -> cook =μαγειρεύω – μάγειρας – cooker = κουζίνα

costume = θεατρικό ρούχο, ενδυμασία, στολή αποκριάτικη but suit =  ανδρικό κοστούμι

delicious  = tasty, when food or drink tastes extremely good, νόστιμος, γευστικός ≠ unpleasant

dish =  έδεσμα, φαγητό                    healthy dishes = υγιεινά ‘’πιάτα’’

Drama=Θέατρο

drama society = a club for people who share the same interest in perofrming, θεατρικός όμιλος

eco (ecological) =  οικολογικός  -> ecology (n.), ecologist (n.)

environment = the air, land, and water where people, animals, and plants live, περιβάλλον

-> environmental (adj.), environmentalist (n.)

favour = something that you do to help someone, χάρη         Example : Could you do me a favour?

from time to time = sometimes, but not often, κάθε τόσο, κατά καιρούς

go through = ξεφυλλίζω

gum= a sweet substance that you chew, τσίχλα

to have the time of my life = to have a wonderful time, περνάω καταπληκτικά

seat = something that you sit on, κάθισμα

shoot a scene = to use a camera to record part of a film, γυρίζω μια σκηνή

stage = the raised area in a theatre where actors perform, σκηνή θεάτρου

to take place= to happen, be held, λαμβάνω χώρα, συμβαίνω

to take your time = to do something without hurrying, με την ησυχία σου, με το πάσο σου

to get back in time =  not be late,επιστρέφω έγκαιρα

task = a piece of work, especially something unpleasant or difficult, εργασία, δουλειά.

team =a group of people who work together to do something, ομάδα -> teamwork (n.)

the stalls = the seats on the main floor near the front of a theatre or cinema, τα μπροστινά καθίσματα στο θέατρο ή το σινεμά

to train = to practise for =   προπονούμαι          -> trainer (n.), trainee (n.), training (n.)

trainers = soft sport shoes, αθλητικά παπούτσια

variety = a number of different things in a group or class, ποικιλία

to waste someone’s time  = to use too much of someone’s time badly when there is a limited amount of it, σπαταλάω το χρόνο κάποιου

bedtime story = παραμύθι που διαβάζεται στα παιδιά πριν πάνε για ύπνο

best-seller = a very popular book that many people have bought, βιβλίο με μεγάλες πωλήσεις

blurb =a short description to advertise a product, especially a book, σύντομη περιγραφή για τη διαφήμιση ενός βιβλίου

bookworm=someone who enjoys reading very much, βιβλιοφάγος

to break up = to stop having a relationship, χωρίζω

comic strip = a series of cartoons in a newspaper that tells a funny story, κόμικ

cover = the outer part of a book, magazine, etc, that protects the pages εξώφυλλο

crime = illegal activities έγκλημα  -> criminal (n.)

destiny = fate, πεπρωμένο

dizzy =feeling like everything is turning round, so that you feel ill or as if you might fall, ζαλισμένος

heating = the system that keeps a building warm, θέρμανση

publisher = εκδότης ->publication (n.)

review =a report in a newspaper, magazine, or programme that gives an opinion about a new book, film, etc,  κριτική

to run away from home= το σκάω από το σπίτι

secret =something that you tell no one about or only a few people, μυστικό

sense of humour = αίσθηση του χιούμορ  -> humorous (adj.)

spy = κατάσκοπος  -> spy (v.)

stuff = personal things, or any other type of materials or objects, πράγμα

suggest =to express an idea or plan for someone to consider προτείνω  ->to make a suggestion

talented=gifted, skilful, showing natural ability in a particular area ταλαντούχος

turn on = switch on, ανάβω μια συσκευή, το φως κτλ. ≠ turn /switch  off

under pressure =when someone tries to make someone else do something, υπό πίεση
